Technical Sales Representative

Job Summary:  

The Technical Sales Representative  (TSR) is responsible for sales and technical support activities for C Technologies, Inc. (CTI) laboratory instrumentation. The laboratory technology developed and marketed by CTI includes spectroscopy instrumentation most notably the SoloVPE and FlowVPE variable pathlength UV/Vis spectrophotometer system. The system is sold primarily into the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and is commonly used for quantifying concentrations of proteins and antibodies in drug discovery and development, manufacturing and quality assurance.

Relationships & Communication:            

The employee in the role of TSR will maintain the following relationships and communications channels.

A.            Reports To: Sales Manager

B.            Directly Supervises: None

C.            Internal Relationships: The TSR will interact with all departments in the organization.

Qualifications: 

The employee in the role of TSR should have the following characteristics/qualifications:

A.         Education:                     Bachelor’s Degree – related field preferred (e.g.  Biology)

B.         Work Experience:          3+ years Sales experience – related industry preferred

C.         Computer Skills:            Excellent computer skills required, including MS Office tools and CRM

D.         Communication Skills:   Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical and upper management audiences.                                     

E.         Strong organizational and planning skills.

F.         Travel:                          50+%

Responsibilities

  • Build and establish relationships with key customers to increase platform growth of the technology
  • Prospect new customers via referrals and both offline and online networking
  • Analyze product applications and determine value to customer and CTI sales organization
  • Identify business opportunities for products, establishing marketing and promotional strategies, and maintain awareness on competing products and technologies
  • Develop a strategy, account by account for VPE implementation
  • Assist in sales forecasting on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Provide feedback on website, brochures, collateral and presentations to aid in sales process
  • Work with key customers to publish posters, papers and present at relevant conferences
  • Organize appropriate travel to customer sites both domestically and internationally
  • Conduct sales presentations and demos
  • Interact with the Service group on necessary support actions
  • Identify short and long term product development requirements to meet the strategic goals of the business
  • Maintain customer database (CRM system)
  • Team player who works productively with wide range of people, both inside and outside the organization
